The first cat to capture Sara's heart was Daisy. Daisy came from a local St. Louis area shelter, and during her 20 years, brought joy to Sara's heart and shaped her lifelong love of cats.

Sara instilled her love for cats into her children from an early age. They fostered cats and kittens for many years before Whisker Station came to be. Sara's youngest daughter now works at the cafe alongside her.
